Located in Greater Boston, MassBay is a comprehensive, open-accesscommunity college, offering associate degrees and certificateprograms on three campuses in Wellesley Hills, Framingham, and Ashland, Massachusetts. Position Summary: The ideal candidate will join a vibrant educational community andhave a desire and ability to serve a population of students withvarious needs and backgrounds. This is a 37.5 hour per weekposition that provides mental health counseling services,consultation, support groups, and educational programming tostudents. This position emphasizes providing direct support tounderserved student populations. Key Responsibilities and Duties: Provide short-term culturally-informed clinical mental healthassessment, treatment, crisis intervention, psychoeducation, andreferrals for students; Provide support to SUCCESS cohort students through counseling,support groups, and educational programming; Act as a liaison for Counseling Services to the MassBay StudentSUCCESS Initiative, attend regular program meetings, trainings, andretreats; Consult and collaborate with the SUCCESS Initiative Manager onoutreach, programming, and all non-confidential aspects of theprogram; Provide consultation regarding the mental needs of cohortstudents and students with documented disabilities to the SUCCESSprogram staff; Collect and report on counseling utilization statistics for theSUCCESS cohort; Provide consultation to faculty and staff on student mentalhealth needs; Document confidential assessment and treatment notes in anelectronic health record; Attend and contribute to individual supervision meetings, teamclinical meetings, divisional meetings, and group or peersupervision meetings; Provide clinical office coverage and consultation to otherstaff and interns; Consult and collaborate, as appropriate, with staff from theAcademic Achievement Center, IT, Financial Aid, Enrollment Center,Admissions, Student Development, Academic and Transfer Advising,faculty, and Academic Deans to assist students in navigating andutilizing resources at the college; Represent the department or the division for college-wide orcommunity activities; Other duties assigned. Required Qualifications: Master’s Degree in Counseling, Social Work, orPsychology; Licensed or license-eligible to provide psychotherapy inMassachusetts. Preferred Qualifications: Sensitivity and commitment to the goals of AffiantiveAction; Experience working in a community college or similarenvironment; Demonstrated commitment to working with students in need; Demonstrated ability to work effectively with students withdocumented disabilities, English language learners, adult learners,and students who need support with college-level coursework.
