ROLE SUMMARY: As a Field Application Scientist (FAS), you will provide essential technical expertise and training to customers, ensuring successful adoption and integration of Quanterix platforms into their research workflows. You will act as a bridge between innovative technology and the scientific community, offering technical guidance, troubleshooting, and staying abreast of the latest advancements. This role involves both pre-sales and post-sales support, extensive travel, and collaboration with internal teams to improve products and customer experience. WHAT YOU’LL DO: Pre-Sales Support: Collaborate with regional sales teams to visit existing and prospective customers Deliver compelling presentations and webinars tailored to diverse audiences and disease areas Demonstrate instrument and software capabilities Participate in industry trade shows and seminars Post-Sales Support: Deliver basic and advanced training to users Respond to technical inquiries and troubleshoot assay development challenges Maintain regular communication with customers to share new publications, protocols, and tools Promote consumables and assay kits to existing customers Continuous Development: Expand knowledge of Quanterix technologies and applications Provide customer feedback to internal teams to guide product strategy and improvements Adhere to Quanterix processes for tracking activities and documenting interactions Other duties as needed BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: Ph.D. in biology, chemistry, biochemistry, or life sciences Fluency in English Bi-lingual in Italian and French Proficiency in general biochemistry/molecular biology laboratory work PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience adapting new technologies to research needs Customer-facing experience in applications or technical sales support Familiarity with immunoassay technologies, ELISA development, immunohistochemistry immunofluorescence, and optical microscopy Strong understanding of biomarker assay landscape EXPECTATIONS, COMPETENCIES, SKILLS & ABILITIES: Exceptional technical communication and writing skills Ability to explain, influence, and negotiate effectively Comfort working with individuals of varying skill levels and backgrounds Team-oriented mindset, positive attitude, and strong independent work ethic Ability to solve complex problems and act decisively Up to 65–70% travel expected Remote work from home office; proximity to a major airport required WHY YOU’LL LIKE WORKING WITH US: Our Technology: From discovery to diagnostics, Quanterix’s ultrasensitive biomarker detection is fueling breakthroughs only made possible through its unparalleled sensitivity and flexibility.
