Job Details Location: Kankakee, Illinois (60901) — Illinois nursing jobs, Chicago-area commute Position: Telemetry Registered Nurse / Telemetry RN (Travel Nursing) Setting: Acute Care – Medical Telemetry Unit (31 beds) Assignment Length: 13 weeks (Start: 6/8/2026 – End: 9/7/2026) Shift: 12-hour nights (5:00 PM – 5:30 AM); every other weekend and holidays required Guaranteed Hours: 48 hours per week Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,070 – $2,180 Orientation: 1 x 12-hour shift Job Requirements / Qualifications Active Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license (must be in hand at time of submission) Minimum 1 year recent Telemetry or Medical-Surgical RN experience; cardiac telemetry experience strongly preferred EPIC charting experience required BLS (AHA) certification required Driver's license required for submission Preferred: previous travel nursing / travel nurse experience and experience with post-cardiac cath recovery Clinical prescreen required prior to offer Key Responsibilities Provide high-quality nursing care to adult patients with CHF, stroke, chest pain, diabetes, pneumonia, COPD, detox, and other cardiac-related conditions Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry rhythms and collaborate with centralized tele-tech support and providers Manage post-cardiac catheterization recoveries (radial band and femoral cath recovery care) Administer medications and manage set-rate drips (e.g., Lasix, heparin, bumex, protonix, octreotide) Work within a nurse-to-patient ratio of approximately 1:5–6, supported by nurse aides and a team lead/charge nurse Float as needed to medical floors or step-down units for telemetry-level patient care Document patient care and assessments using EPIC electronic medical records Follow hospital policies, safety standards, and unit dress code (Caribbean-colored scrubs) This Telemetry RN travel job is ideal for experienced telemetry nurses and medical-surgical RNs seeking short-term travel nursing opportunities in Illinois.
