  • Contract Type: 6-month base contract with 1, 6-month base contract
  • Schedule: Hours of Operation: 5:00 am to 7:30 pm
  • Location: 3801 Miranda Avenue, Palo Alto, CA
• Requirements: * Authorization to work in the U.S. permanently, without sponsorship. * ServSafe Food Handler Certified. * Ability to perform physically demanding food service duties in a fast-paced healthcare environment. * High school diploma or equivalent preferred. * Previous experience with the VA is a plus.

What does a typical day look like for the Food Service Worker?

You will:

• Hours of Operation: 5:00 am to 7:30 pm
• Food assembly, tray delivery, and dishwashing.
• Assemble items like entrees, meats, potatoes, vegetables, salads, desserts, beverages, condiments, trayware, and serving utensils.
• Place specified items on trays as listed on patient tray tickets and menus according to established portions.
• Deliver meal trays to patient wards and dining rooms on campus.
• Break down and clean tray line after tray service.
• Perform a variety of tasks in the dish room, such as scraping trays, sorting, stacking, and racking tray ware for loading into the dish machine, and pulling clean tray ware from the dish machine.
• Place cleaned pots and pans in designated areas.
• Also, store food deliveries and supplies in walk-in refrigerators/freezers.

What qualifications do you look for?

You might be the professional we're looking for if you have:

• ServSafe Food Handler Certified.
• Ability to perform physically demanding food service duties in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous experience with the VA is a plus.

If selected, candidates will need to complete credentialing and onboarding requirements consistent with VA medical staff processes.
