Interventional Radiology Radiologic Technologist

We are seeking a skilled Interventional Radiology Radiologic Technologist with a strong background in neuroscience and neurosurgery. This position involves working four 10-hour shifts, with flexibility for weekends, holidays, and on-call duties based on unit needs.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

• Demonstrate competence in selecting exposure factors and positioning to produce high-quality diagnostic radiologic images.
• Collaborate with team members to resolve issues promptly and effectively.
• Exhibit flexibility, teamwork, compassion, respect, and accountability when interacting with patients and colleagues.
• Maintain awareness of and sensitivity to patient rights during all patient interactions.

Areas of Emphasis

• Administer oral contrast as required for examinations.
• Instruct and prepare patients for radiographic and fluoroscopic examinations and assist the Radiologist during procedures.
• Demonstrate proficiency in operating all x-ray equipment, including CR and DR systems.
• Report equipment malfunctions to the manager or lead technologist.
• Complete assigned procedures in a timely manner, utilizing downtime to assist with departmental tasks, clerical duties, and inventory management.
• Maintain medication security, ensuring access is limited to authorized personnel.
• Exhibit competency in delivering health care services to all age groups within your specialty.
• Demonstrate effective interpersonal relationships with patients of all ages.

Documentation and Information Management

• Utilize the Hospital Information System (HIS), Radiology Information System (RIS), and PACS proficiently.
• Engage in performance improvement activities and quality initiatives as needed.
• Maintain confidentiality through the use of personal passwords for patient care modules.
• Respond to technical inquiries from physicians and hospital personnel, ensuring good telephone etiquette.

Requirements

• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
• Minimum of two years of relevant experience.
• State licensure in New York.
• Experience in Interventional Radiology is preferred, with training provided for those coming from other modalities.
