Job Title: ICU Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: ICU Duration: 26 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years required License: Valid State License required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIH, LA Fire Card required Must-Have: Strong Neuro experience required Weekend requirements: No weekend requirement Description: Strong Neuro experience is required. Candidates must have experience with cardiovascular, multi-trauma, gunshot wounds, stroke patients, and STEMI (ST-Elevation Myocardial Infarction). Experience with motor vehicle accidents and orthopedic cases is also necessary. This unit includes overflow beds and is a Level 2 Trauma Center. The facility is a thrombectomy-capable stroke center with a high-acuity neuro population. Candidates should be familiar with STEMI receiving, CABG (Coronary Artery Bypass Graft), valve procedures, intra-aortic balloon pump (IABP), continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT), sepsis management, and surgical care. Travel experience is required. The candidate will need to float between similar units including PCU and ICU overflow. Local candidates are accepted but no pending licenses will be considered. Mandatory certifications include ACLS, BLS, NIH, and a valid LA Fire Card. Experience with high-acuity, ventilated patients and various critical care procedures is essential. Knowledge of charting systems, particularly Epic, is preferred. This position involves collaborating with an interdisciplinary team including physical therapy, respiratory services, and social services. Expect to care for adult patients with complex diagnoses including multi-trauma and cardiovascular issues. Candidates must be willing to work flexible schedules and commit to holiday coverage as needed. Non-billable modules are part of compliance and must be completed pre-start and annually. It is expected that all travelers will float between facilities within the state. Refusal to float may result in assignment termination. Candidates must provide 2 references covering 1 year of experience within the last 3 years.
