Key Responsibilities\n

  • Conduct thorough assessments and treatment planning for clients, including the creation of pre-crisis and crisis intervention strategies.

  • Document all client interactions and treatment plans in accordance with regulatory standards and guidelines, ensuring timely submission.

  • Utilize evidence-based screening tools as directed by the clinical team to support accurate diagnoses and effective treatment pathways.

  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement positive behavior support strategies tailored to individual client needs.

  • Participate actively in all licensing and accreditation processes, ensuring clinic compliance and maintaining high standards.

  • Serve as a liaison between clients and relevant service systems, state agencies, and community organizations, facilitating access to necessary resources.

  • Establish relationships with local, state, and federal agencies to promote our programs and explore potential partnerships and funding opportunities.

  • Engage in professional development activities such as attending conferences, workshops, and participating in statewide meetings relevant to mental health.

  • Advocate for the integration of our agency's mission, values, and principles in all interactions with clients, colleagues, and community members.

  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Clinic Director to support team initiatives and client care.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The Licensed Mental Health Counselor will primarily work with an diverse clientele including children, adolescents, and families facing various mental health challenges. This role focuses on supporting clients struggling with emotional health issues, trauma, substance abuse, and developmental disabilities. You will utilize person-centered approaches, helping clients navigate their recovery journeys while fostering resilience and independence.

  • A Master’s Degree in a behavioral health field is required.

  • Must possess a valid LMHC license issued by the state of New York.

Compensation and Benefits\n

MedicAid Youth and Family Health Services offers competitive annual salaries ranging from USD 52,000 for part-time to up to USD 100,000 for full-time positions.
