Location: Skowhegan, Maine Compensation: $26–$30 per hour Schedule: 40 hours per week | Monday–Friday | Weekend rotation New graduates are welcome and will receive compensation based on their qualifications and experience. Overview Join a dedicated rehabilitation team at a 74-bed skilled nursing facility providing comprehensive care to patients at different stages of recovery. The facility specializes in post-hospital, short-term rehabilitation as well as long-term and respite care, giving PTAs the opportunity to work with a diverse patient population and make a meaningful impact every day. The rehabilitation team is committed to addressing the medical and functional needs of individuals recovering from illness, injury, surgery, hospitalization, or changes in mobility. Competitive hourly compensation Monday–Friday schedule with weekend rotation Opportunity to work across short-term rehabilitation, long-term care, and respite services Supportive, patient-focused rehabilitation environment Opportunity to build meaningful relationships with patients throughout their recovery Collaborative work alongside Physical Therapists, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals A setting where your clinical skills can directly contribute to improved mobility, function, and quality of life Responsibilities Provide physical therapy interventions under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist Implement treatment plans designed to improve strength, balance, coordination, mobility, and functional independence Assist patients with therapeutic exercises, transfers, gait training, and other functional activities Monitor patient responses to treatment and communicate progress or concerns to the supervising Physical Therapist Accurately document treatments, patient progress, and other required clinical information Encourage and motivate patients throughout the rehabilitation process Promote safe mobility and help patients develop skills they can carry over into their daily routines Collaborate with nursing, therapy, and other members of the care team to support comprehensive patient care Maintain a compassionate, professional approach while working with patients and their families Qualifications Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program Current PTA license or eligibility for licensure in Maine Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team Commitment to providing safe, compassionate, and patient-centered care New graduates are encouraged to apply Why Skowhegan?
