2nd Grade Teacher Position

Kingman Unified School District #20, in Kingman, AZ, invites you to apply for the following certified teaching position for the 2026-27 school year.

Position: 2nd Grade Teacher

Campus: Black Mountain School

School Year: 2026-27 (July 8, 2026 - May 19, 2027)

Compensation:

• Base Pay: KUSD's minimum and maximum new hire salary ranges for teachers include the district's contracted salary, determined by years of experience and higher education, plus state-funded Prop 301 money. The contracted salary in combination with $9,000 in 301 money creates the base wages for teachers, which are represented by the salary ranges. (Prop 301 money is paid separately and not included in the employment contract.)
• The salary range for candidates with up to four years of teaching experience is $45,575 - $55,475.
• The salary range for candidates with four or more years of teaching experience is $47,575 - $57,475.
• Performance Pay: In addition to base pay, certified teaching staff are eligible for an additional $4,500 in Prop 301 performance pay.
• One-Time Critical Needs Stipends (all critical needs stipends are pending appropriate teaching certification):
• Candidates offered and accepting critical needs teaching positions in math, science, and kindergarten may be eligible to receive a one-time $2,000 stipend.
• Candidates offered and accepting critical needs teaching positions in special education may be eligible to receive a one-time $5,000 stipend
• Available Annual Stipends (annual stipends are pending appropriate teaching certification):
• Special Education Teachers are eligible for a case management stipend in FY 2026-27 of up to $4,000.
• Special Education Teachers in ED-P classrooms are eligible for a stipend in FY 2026-27 of $10,000.

To Qualify:

• Bachelor's or more advanced degree from an accredited institution, AND
• An Identity Verified Print (IVP) fingerprint clearance card through Arizona Department of Public Safety, or ability to obtain prior to start date, AND
• Teaching certification through Arizona Department of Education: Elementary Certificate • Early Childhood Certificate • Special Education Certificate with an Early Childhood Endorsement AND One of the Following Endorsements by 8/01/2028: • Literacy K-5 • Reading K-8 • Reading K-12 • Reading Specialist K-12, AND
• SEI, ESL or Bilingual Endorsement issued by Arizona Department of Education, within one year of hire.

Arizona offers an alternative path to certification for those with a Bachelor's or more advanced degree who would like to pursue a career in teaching. Individuals pursuing a teaching career through this alternative pathway must enroll in a teacher preparation program approved by the Arizona Department of Education and obtain an Alternative Teaching Certificate to be eligible for hire.
