Medical Director

To provide clinical oversight and strategic direction, the full-time Ophthalmology Medical Director will manage vision-related programs and services remotely, ensuring compliance with medical standards and regulations while engaging with clients and stakeholders. Key responsibilities: Provide clinical oversight and direction for ophthalmology programs, ensuring adherence to evidence-based standards Perform utilization management reviews and adjudicate clinical appeals and denials, collaborating with operational teams Act as a client-facing clinical leader, participating in meetings and providing guidance to support client relationships and growth Required qualifications: Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) with specialty training in Ophthalmology Active, unrestricted medical license in at least one U.S. state Board certified or board eligible in Ophthalmology Demonstrated experience with utilization management, medical necessity review, and appeals Strong executive-level communication skills for effective engagement with clients and senior leaders
