This substitute position offers flexible scheduling for the remainder of the school year, with the option to work as needed or receive a consistent assignment at one school. Job Goal

To assist in the preparation and serving of attractive, nutritious meals for students and staff.

Job Qualifications / Requirements

• No minimum educational requirements.
• Ability to read and interpret documents, instructions, procedures, and menus.
• Basic knowledge of mathematics.
• Ability to complete daily production records and routine reports.
• Must successfully pass the required health examination
• Ability to relate well to students, staff members, and co-workers.
• Physical demands must be able to stand and walk the majority of the day; must be able to lift and/or move up to fifty (50) pounds.

Job Duties

• Is present at work every day and arrives at assigned time.
• Demonstrates an attitude and demeanor that contributes to an atmosphere of harmony and goodwill in the workplace.
• Interacts in a professional manner with students, staff, and school/district leaders.
• Works harmoniously with supervisors, school staff, district staff, and parents.
• Assists in the preparation and serving of food, including the operation of all kitchen equipment.
• Assists with the setup of cafeteria and serving lines.
• Assists in cleaning up utensils, equipment, and kitchen area.
• Assists with restocking and inventory of food supplies.
• Performs all duties in accordance with defined safety and sanitation standards.
• Follows approved procedure for collecting meal payments and recording meals by category.
• Attends approved training sessions, staff development activities, and meetings as required.
• Complies with all requirements for mandatory reporting of child abuse, illegal harassment, or any criminal activity for which the employee becomes aware.
• Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
