The base itself covers more than 14,000 acres, while the total land area occupied by Nellis, and its restricted ranges is about 5,000 square miles. An additional 7,700 miles of airspace north and east of the restricted ranges are also available for military flight operations. The Nellis work force of about 13,400 military, civilians and contractors makes it one of the largest single employers in Southern Nevada. The total military population numbers more than 40,000, including family members and military retirees in the area. The Mike O'Callaghan Military Medical Center is comprised of around 1,400 personnel who are dedicated to providing preventive, emergency, and acute care services for approximately 22,000 active-duty personnel and their dependents. Health care services are also provided directly or coordinated for more than 40,000 retirees, their dependents, and other eligible beneficiaries on a space-available basis.ResponsibilitiesAttend and participate in meetings during normal duty hours and professional Staff conferences and other appropriate professional activities such as, but not limited to the following: quality improvement meetings, professional staff meetings, Commander's staff meetings, Mental Health meetings, and others required by applicable regulations, MTF guidance, or as directed by the Mental Health Flight Commander or his/her designated representative.Clinical/Counseling Psychology. Responsible for and applies psychological procedures and techniques, including interviewing, behavioral assessment, evidenced-based therapies, and psychological testing/psych diagnostic testing, in the evaluations, diagnosis, and treatment of psychological and neuropsychological disorders. Also able to conduct individual and group psychotherapy, including alcohol and drug treatment evaluation.Family and couples therapy skills are desirable. Consults with medical personnel, legal authorities, military commanders, and school districts, as required.Maintain accurate, timely, and current notes for all patients seen, as appropriate, and produces reports of evaluation and/or treatment, in accordance with military and clinic policies.Participates in military specific training (e.g., training to perform Command Directed Evaluations, security clearances, Military Training Instructor clearances, pre-post deployment screening, PTSD, and combat stress).RequirementsDoctor of Philosophy degree (Ph.D or Psy.D) in clinical or counseling psychology from an APA accredited psychology program.Have a minimum of 1 year experience as a licensed clinical psychologist.Current, full, active and unrestricted license to practice Psychology in any state.Must have a clear background in order to pass the security clearance.Familiar with organization structure and operation methods of Air Force.KurzSolutions is committed to improving health outcomes by providing well-managed companies with the top healthcare talent in the market.
