Group Manager Quality Engineering

The COMET contract provides overall management and implementation of ground systems capabilities, flight hardware processing, and launch operations at NASA's Kennedy Space Center (KSC) in Florida. These tasks support the International Space Station, Ground Systems Development and Operations, and the Space Launch System, Orion Multi‑Purpose Crew Vehicle, and Launch Services programs. Responsibilities Assisting in the development and implementation of goals, policies, priorities, and procedures. Ensuring adherence to master plans and schedules. Developing solutions to program problems and directing the work of the Quality Engineering team assigned to multiple programs. Ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget. Acting as advisor to the program team regarding projects, tasks, and operations. Managing resources effectively within budgetary and time constraints. Contributing to the overall success of the company by developing and leading a motivated and productive staff. Establishing and assessing quality performance criteria in the execution of program requirements. Developing, establishing, and maintaining processes and metrics that support contract and AS9100 requirements. Contributing technically to Design/Project Reviews, V&V assessments, and Technical Boards. Reviewing work documents and procurement documents to ensure proper application of inspection requirements. Managing the creation, update, and validation of Acceptance Data Packs. Managing the MR/MRB certification process and supporting the technical assessment of nonconforming products. Developing sampling plans by applying attribute, variable, and sequential sampling methods. Maintaining statistical process controls. Analyzing data by completing hypothesis, normal distribution, and process capability analysis tests. Preparing reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and making recommendations. Maintaining professional and technical knowledge by attending workshops, reviewing publications, and participating in professional societies. Mentoring team members and documenting quality processes. Performing other duties as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in a related management area and seven (7) years of experience, including three (3) years managing people. Valid US Driver's License. Excellent communication, presentation, and customer interface skills. Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects. Computer experience with Microsoft Office products, Internet browsers, and Outlook. Excellent Excel skills for manipulating and analyzing data to generate reports. Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance if necessary.
