Job Title

Registered Nurse – Inpatient Medical/Surgical (TDY Contract)

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver patient care through the nursing process of assessment, nursing diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation
• Direct and coordinate nursing care for patients based on established nursing practice standards
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare professionals to provide quality, cost-effective, and efficient care aimed at achieving optimal patient outcomes
• Conduct initial patient assessments and reassessments every 24 hours
• Apply age-specific considerations and cultural sensitivity when rendering patient care across all age groups, from birth to elderly, including post-surgical and behavioral health patients
• Serve as a resource person for staff and team members as situations require

Required Qualifications

• Graduate of a nursing education program from an NLN-approved institution
• Current, active Registered Nurse license in good standing in the State of Alaska
• Minimum of 2 years of Medical/Surgical nursing experience
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• International nurses must have completed NCLEX, TOEFL, and Visa Screen requirements (facility is a designated H1-C critical shortage area)

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience working with both pediatric and adult patient populations
• Familiarity with culturally diverse patient communities
