Overview Home Furnishings / Retail sales / Interior Designer at Skandinavia Contemporary Interiors. Location: Austin, Texas, United States Employment Type: Full Time Salary: $60,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year. Responsibilities Take a consultative selling approach to building customer relationships, helping prospective buyers select home furnishing pieces that best suit their needs. Provide design services in the showroom for furniture, accessories, and rug selection, including finish, color customization and style options. Generate sales as a result of in‑store and in‑home consultations. Develop and maintain expert product knowledge of all merchandise. Demonstrate design skills, professional communication, and follow‑up skills. Maintain the appearance of the store at all times. Attend and participate in weekly store meetings and individual meetings. Develop expert knowledge of procedures and computer systems. Exhibit excellent listening skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Collaborate on posts for social media. Qualifications Flexibility to work a retail schedule that includes nights, weekends, and holidays. Bachelor's degree preferred; HS Diploma required. Minimum 2 years proven retail sales/customer service – furniture experience and background in interior design strongly preferred. High‑end apparel and luxury retail sales experience considered. Exceptional sales and customer service skills. Excellent written and verbal communications. Bilingual a plus. Ability to lift 25 pounds. Ability to work well in a team concept and on your own. Optimistic, outgoing, and energetic personality.
