Job Overview:

In conjunction with the Board of Directors, the General Manager will manage the business of the association to deliver exceptional services and solutions that enhance the value of the property and the lifestyle of the residents.

The ideal candidate will have prior supervisory and HOA specific experience.

Compensation: $90,000- $100,000 depending on experience 

FirstService Residential will compensate the successful candidate in accordance with the posted range. The salary or wage paid to the successful candidate will be commensurate with experience, education, and specific job responsibilities. For positions designated at a client's property, the salary or wage will also be premised upon the client's directive. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.

Your Responsibilities

• Provide overall leadership and operational oversight of the high-rise community, ensuring effective management of building operations, staff, vendors, resident services, and association assets
• Partner with the Board of Directors to implement strategic goals, provide operational guidance, and ensure effective governance of the association
• Prepare Board meeting materials, management reports, financial summaries, and recommendations; attend and facilitate Board and annual membership meetings as required
• Oversee the financial management of the association, including budget development and administration, capital planning, financial review, variance analysis, and monitoring of accounts payable and delinquencies
• Direct and supervise on-site staff, including administrative, front desk, maintenance, and engineering personnel; provide leadership, coaching, performance management, and employee development
• Oversee all building operations, engineering systems, preventive maintenance programs, life safety systems, and common area operations to ensure the property is maintained in a safe, compliant, reliable, and efficient manner
• Direct the management of building systems and infrastructure, including HVAC, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, elevators, access control, and other critical building assets through effective oversight of staff, contractors, consultants, and service providers
• Coordinate and oversee preventive maintenance programs, inspections, testing, repairs, capital improvement projects, equipment replacements, and operational enhancements to support asset preservation and long-term building performance
• Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, permits, licenses, certifications, inspections, governing documents, and association policies and procedures
• Maintain operational, maintenance, compliance, safety, and association records, including contracts, reports, inspection documentation, and Safety Data Sheet (SDS) requirements
• Coordinate and manage vendors and contractors, including procurement, contract administration, performance management, competitive bidding, and regulatory compliance
• Conduct regular property inspections to ensure building systems, amenities, common areas, and exterior elements are well maintained and operating effectively
• Lead major repair projects, reserve-funded initiatives, and capital improvements while coordinating with the Board, vendors, consultants, and stakeholders
• Maintain emergency preparedness and business continuity plans and provide leadership during emergency situations, including after-hours incidents, coordinating with staff, emergency responders, contractors, and vendors as necessary
• Serve as the primary liaison between the Board of Directors, residents, vendors, and the management company, ensuring consistent communication regarding operations, projects, and community initiatives
• Review incident reports and ensure appropriate response, documentation, investigation, and resolution of safety and operational issues
• Perform other duties as assigned

Skills and Qualifications:

• Proficient with MS Office suite
• Tremendous listener with the ability to diffuse tense situations
• Able to identify issues and resolve before problems arise
• Highly detail-oriented and thorough, ensuring accuracy and completeness in all work
• Exceptional interpersonal skills to cultivate strong working relationships and promote teamwork
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey information and ideas
• Collaborative and cooperative, working effectively with colleagues and stakeholders to achieve common goals
• Effective leader and motivator, inspiring others to achieve their best and providing guidance and support to team members

Education and Experience:

• CMCA, CAAM or M-100 (preferred)
• 5+ years of HOA management experience (required)
• 5+ years managing others (required)

Physical Requirements:

• Walk and move throughout the community common areas and facilities
• Sit and stand for moderate periods of time
• Sit at a desk using a computer in an office setting

Supervisory Responsibility: Yes

Work Location: Phoenix, AZ

Work Hours: Monday – Friday, 8a – 5p with weekends and evenings as needed. Will need to be available as needed to respond to maintenance emergencies.

Travel Requirements: Some local travel with use of personal vehicle. Eligible for mileage reimbursement at the current IRS approved rates.
