Varsity Girls Basketball Coach

The role of the head basketball coach will be to lead all aspects of the girl basketball program. The position is responsible for coaching and providing direction to student-athletes and all assistant coaches within the program. Essential duties and responsibilities include maintaining a working knowledge of all district and MHSAA rules governing extracurricular athletics, traveling with student-athletes to and from all away games, ensuring proper cleaning, maintenance, and storage of all program materials including uniforms and balls, supervising team in the locker rooms at all home games, away games, and practices to ensure appropriate behavior, maintaining a safe environment and facilities for student-athletes at all times, working with Athletic Director for all practice and game scheduling, ensuring medical and safety guidelines are adhered to, being punctual for all games and practices, conducting him/herself in a professional and courteous manner with all players, parents, staff, officials, consulting with Athletic Director for all offseason training programs, communicating in a timely manner with Athletic Director, parents, and players, and emphasizing sportsmanship.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalency, previous coaching basketball experience, M.H.S.A.A. CAP 1 or 2 completion or in progress, CPR certified, and a time schedule to be compatible with that of the high school.
