Job Title: Community Pharmacist
Employment Type: Contract
Schedule: Rotating 8-hour shifts, Monday–Saturday between 7:30 AM and 7:30 PM
Pay Rate: $65.00 per hour
Department: Community Pharmacy / OptumRx

Position Overview

We are seeking a licensed Community Pharmacist to provide high-quality pharmacy care in a customer-focused retail pharmacy environment. This role is responsible for reviewing and interpreting prescriptions, dispensing medications, counseling patients, and ensuring all pharmacy services are performed in accordance with state and federal regulations and company policies.

The Pharmacist will interact directly with patients and healthcare providers and must be comfortable providing consultations and pharmacy care services in person.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and interpret prescriptions submitted by healthcare providers
• Accurately prepare, fill, and dispense prescription medications
• Provide medication consultations and education to patients
• Verify patient and prescription information for accuracy
• Enter, access, and retrieve prescription information within pharmacy computer systems
• Contact patients or members to verify information and resolve prescription-related issues
• Assist with rejected insurance claims and obtain payment information when needed
• Process, package, and prepare outgoing pharmacy orders
• Ensure medications, supplies, and patient education materials are included with orders
• Follow all state and federal pharmacy regulations and company policies
• Maintain appropriate storage and refrigeration of medications and pharmaceutical products
• Assist with medication and supply inventory, ordering, and stock management
• Work collaboratively with pharmacy staff, healthcare providers, and patients
• Maintain patient confidentiality and provide professional customer service

Minimum Qualifications

• Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or equivalent doctoral-level pharmacy education required
• Active Pharmacist license/professional certification required
• Ability to interpret prescriptions and dispense medications in accordance with applicable laws and regulations
• Strong patient counseling and customer service skills
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Comfortable working with pharmacy computer systems and prescription processing technology
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced pharmacy environment
• Ability to stand for the duration of an 8-hour shift
• Ability to wear a medical mask for the duration of the shift

Candidates must be available for rotating 8-hour shifts Monday through Saturday between 7:30 AM and 7:30 PM .
