Job Description Role As a Principal Product Designer on the AI Experiences Design & Research team, you will design AI-native, consumer-facing content and media experiences across Microsoft products (Copilot, Edge, Bing, MSN). You will partner with product managers, engineers, researchers, and content strategists to define and ship features end-to-end, contribute to the design system, and mentor other designers. Key Responsibilities Apply strong visual, interaction, and product design craft to create high-impact experiences. Design innovative features that leverage generative AI to transform content discovery and engagement. Collaborate closely with cross-functional partners (PMs, engineers, researchers, content strategists) to align on user needs, business goals, and technical constraints. Communicate design rationale and present concepts through prototypes, flows, and presentations. Contribute to and extend the design system; propose new patterns and work with engineers to implement them. Mentor and foster creativity and innovation across the design team. Requirements Required Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, HCI, UX, Interaction Design, or related field AND 5+ years experience in product/service design OR Master’s degree AND 4+ years experience Strong visual and interaction design skills grounded in UX fundamentals Experience designing and prototyping in Figma Portfolio link required on resume Preferred 5+ years experience in consumer-facing product or service design Experience designing AI-powered or content/media experiences Familiarity with generative AI and vibe coding Experience with accessibility and inclusive design Excellent communication and storytelling skills Compensation Typical base pay range across the U.S.: USD 142,800 - 274,800 per year. Bay Area & NYC metropolitan base pay range: USD 188,000 - 304,200 per year.
