Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (L&D RN)

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Day shift, 3x12 hour shifts (07:00 - 19:30) with every 3rd weekend required.

Job Description

The Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse is responsible for providing high-quality nursing care to patients during labor and delivery. This role involves working with high risk deliveries and collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience in labor and delivery nursing, possess active certifications, and be prepared to manage complex patient needs.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and assess patients during labor and delivery.
• Perform interventions as necessary for high-risk deliveries.
• Provide education and support to patients and families.
• Administer medications and manage pain control methods.
• Assist in special procedures such as D&C, cerclage, and induction placements.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Active RN license in the state of MD or compact license.
• BLS, ACLS, NRP, AWHONN Intermediate, and C-EFM certifications required.
• Minimum of 2 years of RN experience in Labor and Delivery (will consider candidates with strong experience and certifications). No first-time travelers accepted.
