Direct Support Professional

• Pay: $16 - $24 / hour ($18.75 average) | Based on weekday/weekend shifts
• Sign-on Bonus: $1,000*

Direct Support Professional Responsibilities:

• Empower Independence - Support individuals with daily living tasks like cooking, dressing, and grooming while encouraging their self-sufficiency
• Build Meaningful Connections - Foster community involvement and help individuals build lasting relationships
• Be Their Advocate - Monitor physical and emotional well-being and communicate important updates to the care team through accurate documentation and real-time updates
• Ensure Health & Safety - Administer medications following medical guidelines, including mealtime safety and maintaining a safe, clean environment
• Celebrate Progress - Implement behavior support plans and encourage positive behaviors that help individuals thrive
• Stay Organized - Maintain accurate documentation to ensure quality care continuity
• Problem-Solve Together - Guide individuals through challenges and promote independence through supportive problem-solving

Requirements

Must-Haves:

• Successful completion of Emory Valley Center's internal training (e.g. CPR/FA, Medication Certification, etc.)
• Valid driver's license with a clean 3-year driving record
• Successful completion of background check covering employment history from age 18 to present
