Prep Cook

Kikka sushi is looking for a dependable, hardworking, Food Prep / Cook that will provide great customer service in the Whole Foods Market located in 2600 Via De La Valle, Del Mar, CA 92014

Full Time only, working 5 days a week including all Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays (weekdays off). 7am - 4pm (includes an hour unpaid meal break). 

The Food Prep / Cook will make sushi in advance and per customer's request. No experience making sushi, no problem we will teach you! The team member will also do prep work, prepare other Asian foods and maintain a clean and neat environment while helping customers in a fun, fast paced, exciting environment.

To thrive you must show up to work on time and as scheduled, be willing to learn and work hard (this isn’t an easy job), be patient (it takes about 3 months to make sushi quickly and look nice too), must be willing to stick it out (not quit after a few weeks or a couple of months) and be able to work with multi-cultural and multi-lingual co-workers, some who barely speak English. 

Pay: $18.00. Per SB1182: up to $19.00 per hour, depending on years of sushi making working experience. No sushi making work experience, $18.00, not negotiable.

Qualifications:

• Be 18 years of age or older
• Must know what sushi is
• Be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
• Must be able and willing to work all Saturdays, Sundays and holidays.
• Be eligible to work in the U.S.

Preferred experience:

• Working in quick service restaurants, supermarkets or fast paced environments
• Food handling experience and food handler certification
