Position Duties Include, But Are Not Limited To Enforces federal laws, military regulations, and installation security policies while conducting entry control, armed perimeter patrols, and physical security checks. Responds to emergency situations, traffic violations, criminal complaints, and alarms to neutralize threats, secure crime scenes, and protect personnel and mission-critical assets. Performs initial investigations, detains violators, operates emergency vehicles, and prepares official incident reports in coordination with Department of the Air Force civilian and military defense forces. Perform and enforce the full range of police officer duties within a military facility. Direct and supervise the dispatch operation activities involving security force patrols to scenes of crimes, accidents, natural disasters, and apprehensions. Required Qualifications Males must be registered for Selective Service, see Applicants must be able to meet the OPM Qualification Standards of the position being filled. Must pass an initial pre‑employment medical examination, periodic medical examinations, required initial and annual physical fitness/physical agility tests to include running, meet established hearing standards. Required to obtain and maintain Secret security clearance associated with the position This position has been identified as a designated position under the Air Force Drug Testing Plan. Applicants of this position is/are subject to the possibility of a random drug test. Incumbent must possess a valid driver's license and be able to operate all security forces vehicles and installed equipment. Must pass formal law enforcement training school as determined by AF/A4S and obtain DoD Peace Officer Standardization and Training Certification. This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position.
