Substitute Cafeteria Worker

Reports To: Director of Food Services

Job Purpose: To assist with maintaining a clean, efficient, and safe cafeteria for students and workers.

Qualifications-Required:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Displays a positive, courteous attitude towards all students
• Exhibits a helpful, positive, and friendly attitude towards all associates
• Is clean, well groomed, and always wears the proper attire as per district uniform policy
• Ability to speak and understand English
• Excellent attendance and work ethic
• Able to pass the Criminal History Review
• Able to pass the Sexual Misconduct Child Abuse Disclosure

Qualifications-Desired:

• 1 year of experience as a cafeteria worker
• 1 year of experience working in a school setting

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Performs all kitchen duties, but not limited to serving the students at a steady pace
• Performs light food preparation, ware washing
• Performs dish washing duties
• Cleans and sanitizes dining room tables
• Maintains all health and safety standards in accordance with the Atlantic County Health Department

Working Conditions: School Building Cafeteria Lunchroom $16.50/hour Not to Exceed 29.5 hours/week

Physical Requirements:

• Able to stand for long periods of time
• Able to bend at the waist to pick up supplies
• Able to use arms to wipe down dining room tables
• Able to push a cart with boxes
• Able to lift 30 lbs.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment
