Successful candidates should have a background in accounting or business administration, as well as strong presentation and analytical skills.As a Junior Accountant you will have the unique opportunity to serve in a cross-functional role that will assist the company's Accounts Payable and Treasury groups. This position will be responsible for processing invoices for all CWCapital companies (Corporate and Special Servicing), applying cash receipts, and handling travel expenses.Duties/Responsibilities:Assist with the collection, review, and processing of Special Servicing and Corporate accounts payable invoicesSupport special servicing Asset Managers with time sensitive invoice processing and funding requestCode cash receipts and disbursements to the appropriate general ledger accountApply cash receipts to accounts receivable and compile underlying documentation to support monthly cash activityReconcile expenses related to special servicing loans to provide an accurate list of outstanding chargesDistribute weekly remittance notifications to vendors paid through Corporate AP processEnter manual checks into the system for bank distributions that occur throughout the monthProcess weekly employee expense reimbursements through the accounting systemResearch vendor inquiries about payment status for invoicesAssist with ad hoc requests related to the annual audit special servicing transactionsRequired Skills/Abilities:Proficient in Microsoft 365, including Adobe AcrobatExcellent skills in collaboration, communication, organization, and time managementAttention to detailAbility to work with others and independentlyExcellent creative problem-solving skillsAnalytical skills to identify discrepancies, trends, and potential issuesEducation and Experience:Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related fieldOne-to-three-year proven experience in office or professional settings, with a focus on accounting, demonstrating adeptness and competency in relevant responsibilities*The requirements above reflect our ideal candidate profile, but studies show that many strong candidates don't apply simply because they don't meet every qualification listed. Additional elements such as bonuses, overtime, deferred cash (where applicable), benefits, perks, and company contributions to 401(k) plans-often result in total compensation significantly exceeding the base salary.
