Quality Lead

Job Summary Inspector/Tester - Quality Control Lead Responsibilities Inspect and test products at various stages in the production process. Establish testing procedures to determine a product's dimensions and its mechanical, electrical, or chemical characteristics. Set up and perform testing on materials, parts, or finished products to measure product performance under a variety of conditions. Document test results. After products have been fully tested, evaluate data. Prepare summaries to show how the product might differ from existing standards of quality and reliability. Suggest changes in how products are made to achieve the best quality possible. Recommend methods to minimize the amount of scrap or leftover material thrown away after manufacture. Specialize in areas such as product design, purchasing, inventory control, or research and development. Select and assign quality control duties, and evaluate performance of the team. Arrange training to improve quality control measures and ensure labor relations requirements are met. Maintain records and reports, issue correspondence, review errors and causes, and advise on corrective actions. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization. Basic mathematics: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, including fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rates, ratios, percentages and interpret bar graphs. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Demonstrated advanced technical skills, detailed functional knowledge, and awareness of new technologies and techniques. Certificates, Licenses & Registrations ASQ certification as CQT, CQA, CQPA or CSSGB is desired. Scope / Impact May assist in developing goals or targets for the line or department. Decision Making / Discretion May make decisions or recommendations within a team or line that affect the department or function. Supervision / Leadership May edit work or advise other employees. Work Environment The position requires occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts and repetitive motion. The noise level is usually loud. Physical Demands Regularly required to talk, hear, and sit; occasionally stand, reach with hands and arms, lift or move up to 25 pounds.
