As the Store Manager’s primary support, they are responsible for assisting in all aspects of the store’s operations. This includes delivering an exceptional customer experience, offering guidance and support to the store team, and overseeing various operational tasks. In addition to maintaining high standards of customer service and team leadership, the Assistant Store Manager prioritizes safe work practices while keeping Team Members efficient and on task. They actively cultivate a work environment that fosters these values and ensure that all Team Members are well-versed in company practices and procedures through comprehensive training. Your day-to-day responsibilities will vary, but you must be capable of performing all duties accurately, efficiently, and safely. Safety: Uphold and enforce safety protocols to ensure a safe and productive work environment. Customer Service: Provide outstanding customer service and promptly resolve customer concerns. Store Operations: Assist the Store Manager in driving sales, customer loyalty, supporting Team Members, and delegation of tasks. Team Management: Assist the Store Manager in issuing discipline/coaching, hiring, scheduling, and training. Daily Tasks: Perform opening/closing procedures, processes bank deposits, supervise cash handling, complete daily edits and reports promptly, and utilize computer systems to assist customers and respond to internal emails or store ticketing system. Departmental Expertise to include Maintain register balances accurately. Monitor layaway and special-order balances. Execute coupon and promotion procedures post-register transactions. Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of farm and agriculture products and industry. Stay informed about the vendors we work with and the products we carry. Navigate receiving processes and functions proficiently. Conduct firearm sales and review Form 4473 thoroughly. Obtain forklift certification, operate, and provide training. Ensure proper operation, handling, and training regarding propane stations. Requirements Attendance: Maintain regular and timely attendance Schedule: Work scheduled shifts and be open to varied hours, including days, nights, weekends, and overtime as business needs dictate. Lead by Example: Be active on the sales floor, working with Team Members in stocking product and providing exceptional customer service. Working Hours: Assistant Store Managers are required to work 43 hours per week. Management and Administrative Requirements Demonstrate strong leadership abilities. Possess a positive attitude and professionalism. Ability to delegate respectfully and effectively. Address and resolve customer questions or concerns promptly. Maintain open and effective communication with the Store Manager and Team Members. Understand various store positions and be prepared to fill in when required. Exhibit outstanding time management and organizational skills. Security - Maintain awareness of your surroundings, greet all customers, and ensure merchandise security by following established guidelines. Maintain consistent and accurate inventory management. Supporting the Store Manager Review and approve payroll and timesheets. Create and manage weekly schedules for staff. Ensure adequate staffing levels for the store. Support store operations, focusing on increasing sales, managing inventory, controlling spending, and minimizing loss. Be available to receive and respond to alarm calls from the provider, including verifying and assisting with any potential law enforcement needs at the store.
