TEACHER-EC Visually Impaired Teacher (Part Time) Franklin County Schools – West River Rd. Annex, Louisburg, North Carolina Duties and Responsibilities Manage instructional time by ensuring materials and equipment are ready before each lesson and maintaining high student time‑on‑task. Manage student behavior by applying rules and procedures for classroom conduct and monitoring all students during activities and transitions. Present instruction: review previous materials, introduce objectives, communicate fluently, provide examples, assign tasks, ask questions, present at brisk pace, manage transitions, and summarize main points. Monitor student performance by setting standards, checking work during class, and using oral, written, and other products for assessment. Provide instructional feedback; give prompt feedback on in‑class and out‑of‑class work, affirm correct responses, and give sustained feedback on incorrect or no responses. Facilitate instruction by developing an instructional plan aligned with school and system goals, using diagnostic data to guide objectives, maintaining accurate records, and using resources to support the program. Interact within the educational environment by treating all students fairly and collaborating effectively with students, co‑workers, parents, and community. Perform non‑instructional duties as assigned, adhere to policies, and pursue professional development. Perform other related work as required. Qualifications Degree in education or related field that qualifies for North Carolina teacher licensure. Physical ability to use classroom equipment, lift and carry objects, and perform light work. Data conception: ability to assess functional characteristics of data and objects. Interpersonal communication: ability to speak, signal, and understand instructions. Language ability: read and prepare correspondence, reports, and instructional materials. Intelligence: apply logical thinking to define problems, collect data, and draw conclusions. Verbal aptitude: deliver information, explain procedures, and communicate in professional languages. Numerical aptitude: use formulas, perform arithmetic, and apply statistics. Form/spatial aptitude: evaluate item dimensions. Motor coordination: coordinate hands and eyes using office equipment. Manual dexterity: handle office equipment and hand tools with minimal coordination. Color discrimination: differentiate colors. Interpersonal temperament: cope with stress and emergencies. Physical communication: talk and hear, including telephone use.
