Oncology Scheduling Specialist (77194)

The Oncology Scheduling Specialist welcomes patients to our organization in a courteous, friendly, and helpful manner, exhibiting proficient and professional communication skills with patients, families, co‑workers, and physicians and displaying comprehensive knowledge of clinic resources to provide optimum care. Responsibilities Greets patients in a caring and professional manner by phone or in person. Schedules all appointments and procedures accurately within provided guidelines. Obtains appropriate patient, insurance and treatment information as needed. Assists in coordinating appointments for all services. Maintains provider and infusion schedules, communicating changes as indicated by provider, coordinator, or manager. Schedules and reschedules appointments for multiple providers across Cancer Center service lines. Maintains scheduling equipment daily, including PCs, printers, fax machines, etc. Periodically checks on patients throughout patient care areas to ensure their needs are met. Maintains compliance with HIPAA Privacy and Security regulations per Lake Region Healthcare policy. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required; graduation from a 2‑year college or experience in Medical Terminology preferred. Basic math, keyboard/typing skills, and professional written and verbal communication skills required. Basic word processing and spreadsheet management skills preferred. Successful completion of the pre‑employment health‑screening process required. Must be able to attend the work site according to the scheduled shifts. Compensation: Hourly wage range of $20.14 to $31.18 per hour, adjusted based on experience, qualifications and internal equity considerations.
