Our growing construction law firm in Towson, Maryland is seeking a Senior Associate Attorney to join our dynamic practice. We represent owners, developers, general contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and design professionals in a wide range of construction-related matters. Position Overview

The Senior Associate Attorney will play a key role in handling complex construction law matters, including contract drafting and negotiation, dispute resolution, litigation, risk management, and day-to-day legal counseling. The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical skills, sound judgment, and a proven ability to manage matters independently while collaborating closely with partners and clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Handle a broad range of construction law matters from inception through resolution
• Draft, review, and negotiate construction contracts and related agreements
• Advise clients on project risk, claims avoidance, and compliance issues
• Manage litigation, arbitration, mediation, and other dispute resolution proceedings
• Conduct legal research, draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents
• Represent clients in court, arbitration hearings, mediations, and depositions
• Provide practical, business-oriented counsel to clients in the construction industry
• Support client development efforts and help maintain strong client relationships
• Mentor junior attorneys and collaborate with legal support staff as needed

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school
• Active admission to the Maryland Bar, or ability to waive in promptly
• 5+ years of experience in construction law, commercial litigation, or a related practice area
• Strong experience with construction contracts, claims, and dispute resolution
• Excellent writing, research, negotiation, and advocacy skills
• Ability to manage multiple matters independently and efficiently
• Strong interpersonal skills and a client-focused approach
• Admission in additional jurisdictions, such as Washington, D.C. or Virginia, is a plus

Preferred Experience

• Experience representing contractors, subcontractors, owners, or design professionals
• Familiarity with public and private construction projects
• Experience with mechanic’s liens, bid protests, delay claims, defect claims, and payment disputes
• Background in arbitration forums and complex commercial litigation
