A highly respected independent educational institution in the Baltimore area is seeking a Staff Accountant to join its close-knit finance team. What You’ll Do Prepare and distribute monthly General Ledger reports to department managers and respond to related inquiries Process and record cash receipts and deposits Complete monthly sales and use tax filings Reconcile bank accounts and other complex General Ledger accounts Assist with and process bi-weekly payroll for approximately 200 employees Support month‑end close activities and other accounting functions as needed What We’re Looking For Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field 3+ years of full‑cycle accounting experience Strong account reconciliation skills Analytical mindset with the ability to work independently and solve problems proactively Payroll experience is preferred, but not required for candidates with strong accounting backgrounds Experience in education, nonprofit, or mission‑driven organizations is a plus Strong communication skills and a collaborative, team‑oriented personality Why This Opportunity?
