Shop Clerk

The Scruggs Company is seeking a high-potential, motivated Shop Clerk for our Waycross shop. Basic function: Enter data into computer mainframe in order to generate a variety of reports and information. Job Duties: Receive source documents and review for completeness and accuracy. Call up appropriate program on the computer terminal to enter the source data. Key, edit, and update employee hours, equipment hours, daily aggregate totals, etc.as required. Key all payables. Keyall equipment moves. Run miscellaneous reports as requested. Contact various individuals to obtain missing or unclearinformation on the source document. File departmental printout sheets for future reference anddocumentation. Assist their manager with special projects orother departmental needs as assigned. Perform other related duties as assigned. Knowledge: Basic Microsoft Excel Accuracy in checking and data entry and retrieval of information, use of calculators, typewriter, computer, a dding machine, copy machine, fax machine, telephone console and other typical office equipment. Experience: 12 months of Administration responsibilities and perform duties effectively under normal supervision. Complexity of Duties: R outine duties involving use of various procedures and applications of clearly prescribed standard practices whichrequire the making of minor decisions and the use of judgement. Supervision received: Position works under general supervision, proceeds along on regular duties, referringquestionable cases to supervisors. Errors: Probable errors may be serious involving losses such as improper costs, incorrect entry information. Contacts with others: Regular contacts with other departments and others outside the company, usually over the telephone, furnishing or obtaining information which requires ordinary tact and courtesy to avoid frictions and obtain cooperation. Works with some confidential data where disclosure would be negligible having a minor internal effect. Physical activity: Position requires fingering and the ability to move wrist, hands or fingers to operate typewriter and/ or computer, position requires the ability to express or exchange ideas with others by means of spoken word and to receive and give detailed information through oral communication in person and over the telephone or base radio. Occasional lifting or moving of average weight material (over 25 pounds) such as boxed files and other data. Mental or Visual Demand: Must concentrate mental and visual attention closely on work. Position requires the coordination of manual dexterity with mental and visual attention for sustained periods of time. Working conditions: General office conditionswith exposure to conditions found around transportation department; noise, fumes, dirt, etc., but not to the point of being disagreeable.
