Description

American Traveler seeks a Certified Surgical Technologist for a Neuro CST position requiring 7 years of experience and CST or TS-C certification.

Details

• Hospital surgical services department with 15 OR suites, including hybrid and cardiothoracic rooms, plus PACU, sterile supply, pharmacy, and scheduling support areas
• CST Neuro specialty focus
• Monday through Friday schedule, 0630-1500
• 26-week contract
• Call required every 3rd weekend and 1-2 nights per week
• Must be willing to assist in other specialties as needed

Requirements

• Minimum of 7 years of experience as a Surgical Technologist
• Technical Diploma from an accredited Surgical Technologist program or comparable military training
• BLS certification required
• NBSTSA Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or NCCT Tech in Surgery-Certified (TS-C) required
• License required if applicable

Additional Information

• Serve as primary scrub person or assistant for operative procedures
• Prepare instruments and supplies, ensuring proper sterilization and setup for scheduled cases
• Maintain the sterile field during case setup, throughout procedures, and during patient positioning
• Pass instruments and assist the physician as needed, including cutting suture material or applying electrocautery under direct supervision
• Perform instrument, sponge, and sharps counts in collaboration with the circulating nurse
• Assist with post-case cleanup, including gross decontamination and proper transport of instruments to Central Sterile Processing
• Ensure surgical suite is disinfected, restocked, and ready for the next procedure
• Complete mandatory hospital education and maintain compliance with HR and Employee Health requirements
