Substitute Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Morgan County Schools Morgan County Schools - Berkeley Springs, West Virginia Open in Google Maps This job is also posted in Morgan County Schools - WV Job Details Job ID: 5862645 Application Deadline: Aug 31, 2026 11:59 PM (Eastern Standard Time) Re-Posted: Aug 03, 2026 4:00 AM (UTC) Starting Date: Immediately Job Description JOB DESCRIPTION JOB TITLE: Substitute Licensed Practical Nurse QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or equivalent Must have completed an LPN program that is state approved, passed the LPN licensing examination and is licensed by the state of WV as a Licensed Practical Nurse Must have and maintain First Aid/CPR certification Must pass background check Applicants should also possess good communication and organization skills JOB GOAL: LPN is employed to work in a public school under the supervision of a school nurse to implement an approved health program at the local school level PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: Assists the School Nurse to ensure a healthy school environment Provides staff and student education related to health promotion, disease prevention and chronic diseases Serves as a resource for students, staff and parents regarding health issues Receives written, verbal, telephone, fax, electronic and /or emailed orders for student care from a licensed health care provider/prescriber with communication to the certified school nurse responsible for the overall care of the student Contributes to the nursing assessment by collecting, reporting and recording objective and subjective data, including health screenings, in an accurate and timely manner to the certified school nurse Monitoring basic patient health such as vital signs and overall condition Provide specialized health care procedures including changing dressings, inserting catheters, suctioning of tracheostomy, naso-gastric tube feeding or gastrostomy tube feeding, administer insulin by injection, pump device or other method Taking patient histories and maintaining documentation Assisting with tests or procedures Maintains confidential information in compliance with all county, state and FERPA guidelines PERFORMANCE STANDARDS: Maintains positive work habits Performs duties efficiently and productively Maintains and improves skills IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Principal SALARY: Salary Scale F TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 200-day contract Position Type: Substitute Contact Information Jeromy Duelley , Asst.
