Diesel Technician / Mechanic

We are looking for a talented Diesel Technician / Mechanic to join our Distribution business in Hodgkins, IL

You will make an impact in the following ways:

• Complete repairs on engine products in a service shop
• Perform maintenance/repairs utilizing diagnostic tools
• Maintain detailed records of serviced vehicles
• Adhere to Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental policies
• Ongoing development/certifications on new and existing Cummins products
• Maintain own tools

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

• Completes complex internal engine repairs
• Performs complex unassisted engine overhauls
• Ability to troubleshoot with limited/no support from diagnostic tools
• Detailed understanding of the aftertreatment system and components
• Mentor junior technicians including technical support and documentation

Compensation and Benefits: Base salary rate commensurate with experience. Education, Licenses, Certifications: Apprentice Trained Engine Technician (Preferred) Vocational diploma from relevant technical institution Locally valid driving permit (Preferred) This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations. Experience: Advanced level knowledge of and/or experience with engine products Experience providing technical advice and coaching to more junior technicians (preferred)

Additional Responsibilities Unique to this Position:

MONDAY - FRIDAY 7AM - 3:30PM SHIFT

NEED EXPERIENCED TECHNICIAN REQUIRING LIMITED GUIDENCE FOR TROUBLESHOOTING & REPAIRS

OEM EXPERIENCES, CHASSI, HVAC, AND POWER TRAIN TRAINING PREFERRED MINIMUM DIAGNOSTICS 5YRS

- A current valid license is required for this role- This role requires a 5 year motor vehicle report, free from major violations- This role requires applicant to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical- 3 years driving experience- This role is subject to Department of Transportation (DOT) driving regulations including Hours of Service and Electronic Log Booking Device use- Federal law requires a CDL holder to be 21 years of age or older, applicant must be 21 years of age

- This position is subject to Federal Transit Administration random and pre-employment drug testing requirements. This roll will be subject to on-going random drug and alcohol testing.

- A CDL may be required to obtain upon hire- Federal law requires a CDL holder to be 21 years of age or older
