Job Description\n American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN Long Term Acute Care ICU - Intensive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Peoria, Illinois.Job Description & Requirements\n \n Specialty: ICU - Intensive Care Unit\n Discipline: RN\n Start Date: ASAP\n Duration: 13 weeks\n 36 hours per week\n Shift: 12 hours, days\n Employment Type: Travel\n \n Assignment Overview\n \n Shift: Days, 3x12hrs\n Hours: 36 hrs/wk\n Start Date: Aug 17, 2026\n Length: 13 weeks\n Openings: 1\n Description\n American Traveler is seeking an RN for a High Acuity ICU position requiring at least 1 year of critical care experience and active ACLS/BLS certifications.Details\n \n Acute care setting in a High Acuity/ICU unit with 8 beds\n Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:2-3\n Cares for patients with respiratory failure, post-surgical needs, wound care, IV antibiotics, post-CVA, post-trauma, and cardiac diagnoses\n Utilizes EPIC EMR system\n 12-hour day shifts scheduled 7:00 AM-7:30 PM\n Weekend rotation required every other weekend and to fill scheduling gaps\n Holiday rotation required and to fill scheduling gaps\n No current call or standby requirement, though subject to change\n ICU RNs may float to Med-Surg unit\n House Supervisor available 24/7 rather than unit-based charge nurse\n Respiratory Therapy available in-house 24/7\n Hospitalist/Intensivist on-site dayshift only, with tele-health MD coverage after hours\n Telemetry monitoring centrally managed by dedicated telemetry tech\n Nurses provide primary patient care with no nurse aides/patient care techs on unit\n Requirements\n \n Active IL RN license required\n Current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA) required\n Minimum 1 year of RN experience required\n Experience with PEG tube care and feedings required\n Experience with CVC/PICC/Midline usage and care required\n Tracheostomy patient care experience required\n Experience caring for sedated and ventilated patients required\n Proficiency titrating vasopressors, sedation, and pain control drips required (including Precedex, Propofol, Fentanyl, Versed, Lasix, Insulin, Amiodarone, Nitro, Levophed, Dopamine, Cardizem)\n Experience with ventilators, CPAP, BiPAP, and High Flow respiratory equipment required\n Negative drug screen required for all panels\n EPIC EMR experience preferred\n Additional Information\n \n Provide direct primary nursing care to critically ill ICU patients with no support from nurse aides or patient care techs\n Responsible for managing and troubleshooting ventilator, CPAP, BiPAP, and High Flow respiratory equipment\n Complete classroom orientation per facility policy plus 2 shifts on the unit with a preceptor\n Scrubs required in any color; only facility-approved t-shirts permitted\n Local rate applies to clinicians with a permanent address within 50 miles of the facility\n No radius restriction for job eligibility\n COVID vaccination not required\n First-time travelers welcome to apply\n \n \n American Traveler Job ID #P-739250.
