Job Description
Title
Med Surg RN - Float Pool

Schedule
Self-scheduling; 5:1 patient ratios for days, nights, and weekends. Approximately 3 weekends on and 3 weekends off on a 6-week schedule.

Assignment Details
Contract length: 10 weeks minimum.

Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of Med Surg experience
- NM nursing license (may pend at submission)
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS
- Core clinical skills: Med/Surg & Telemetry monitoring; IV start/maintenance; phlebotomy; central line care; blood product administration; chest tube care; oxygen therapies; non-invasive airway management.

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in a Med Surg float pool setting.
- Monitor patient conditions and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
- Conduct patient assessments and document care in the EMR system.
- Educate patients and families regarding health management and care plans.
- Participate in rapid response and code team situations as necessary.

Compliance / Notes
- COVID vaccination required; exemptions accepted with proper documentation.
- Drug screen must be completed within 30 days prior to start.
- No requests for time off during the first 7 days or on the last day of the contract.
- Max one holiday bundle preferred.
- Non-billable modules required before start.
- Free parking available.
