Associate Medical Director

Hospice of Marion County, a part of Empath Health is seeking a caring and motivated Associate Medical Director to join the Empath team.Since 1983, Hospice of Marion County has been honored to serve families across Ocala and Marion County with compassionate, expert end-of-life care. As part of Empath Health, we help neighbors with advanced illness live as comfortably and meaningfully as possible, while supporting their families and caregivers with respect, guidance, and dignity.What you'll Do:Promotes and practices the Empath Health mission, vision and values and follows all policies and procedures.Provides symptom control expertise and communicates with the APRN and/or RN to evaluate and initiate treatments for pain/symptom management. This is primarily completed through in person visits. Collaborates with team members, including other clinical staff members to create and implement the appropriate plan of care.Collaborates with the patient’s attending physician as needed to develop and update the patient’s plan of care, ensure the provision of direct medical services to ensure pain and symptom management.Serves as a medical resource and educator to staff, patients, families and attending physicians regarding admission criteria, pain and symptom control management, and end of life care.Adheres to the Florida Department of Health requirements, as well as legal, regulatory and accreditation requirements. meetings as assigned, collaborating closely with the Clinical Director and other disciplines with a team approach to ensure that the medical needs of the patient are met.Actively participates in IDG meetings as assigned, collaborating closely with other disciplines with a team approach to ensure that the medical needs of the patient are met.Why Join Empath Health?
