Field Service Engineer

Field Service Engineer – ProMach – Middleton & Monroe, WI Join ProMach, a leader in packaging performance and automation. The Field Service Engineer will support installation, maintenance, and repair of industrial automated equipment, including robotics, controls, and packaging systems. Responsibilities Travel to customer facilities to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair complex machinery and equipment. Train customers’ operators and technicians on machine setup, operation, change‑over, and maintenance. Provide technical support via phone, remote connection, or on‑site for electrical, controls, mechanical, and robotic equipment. Modify and troubleshoot Allen Bradley PLC and HMI programs for existing packaging equipment. Commission, test, and debug robotic and automated packaging systems. Provide on‑call emergency service and maintain communication while in the field. Prepare detailed trip reports documenting encountered issues and solutions. Maintain records of service calls, training, and expenses. Ensure compliance with inspection, testing, and quality specifications during machine installations and integrations. Identify and correct hardware and software discrepancies in machinery and equipment. Maintain positive customer relationships and identify opportunities for product improvements and parts sales. Work from engineering drawings, specifications, and manuals to perform mechanical and electrical tasks. Collaborate with Engineering, Sales, and Operations to address inquiries and provide technical support. Study technical manuals and attend training sessions to maintain current knowledge. Support manufacturing when required and assist in Pre‑FAT and FAT activities. Qualifications Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, Industrial Automation, Mechatronics, or Robotic Programming. Familiarity with Rockwell Automation programming software, Allen Bradley PLCs and HMIs for troubleshooting and coding. Proficiency troubleshooting electrical circuits, I/O devices, VFDs, servo motors, and various industrial networks. Experience with robotic applications including programming and vision (Fanuc preferred). Hands‑on experience with industrial automation equipment. Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment. Strong customer service skills and desire to work with clients. PLC programming, HMI development and troubleshooting skills. General understanding of automation, high‑speed assembly machinery, SCADA, gantry and six‑axis robotics, FANUC robots, and general automation technology. Knowledge of AutoCAD electrical and familiarity with Ladder Logic, Studio 5000 and Factory Talk are advantages. Willingness to travel up to 95%.
