Position Summary Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) provides comprehensive patient care and administrative support to the Sr. Clinical Director of Adult Services. The CCMA is responsible for high‑quality patient care, supporting programmatic safety and efficiency. The role emphasizes evidence‑based, strength‑based, and culturally responsive care within a multidisciplinary team, aligning with TDMHSAS standards, grant requirements, and applicable state and federal regulations. Location 500 Professional Park Dr, Goodlettsville, TN 37072-2168, United States Clinical Duties All clinical tasks completed must be delegated by the Sr. Clinical Director of Adult Services and/or the Medical Director. Proficient with medical and mental health terminology. Performs point‑of‑care procedures as directed: administer long‑acting injectables; obtain vital signs; perform glucose testing, phlebotomy, diagnostic tests, and urine drug screens. Supports medication maintenance and prescribing in collaboration with the Sr. Clinical Director: prescription renewal and discontinuation, active medication list maintenance, prior authorization completion, in alignment with agency policy, formulary regulations, and state regulations. Provides support during patient crisis situations and on‑call support when needed during emergencies. Provides patient education regarding medications, risks, benefits, and reasonable outcome expectations when needed. Performs patient trierage and data collection. Provides basic patient care as directed by the Sr. Clinical Director. Manages a complex census of high‑need, chronically mentally ill patients as directed by the Sr. Clinical Director. Administrative Duties Communicates effectively with the Sr. Clinical Director, team members, community partners, and patients. Follows safety, infection, and clinical protocols and supports the Sr. Clinical Director with training and enforcement of those protocols. Supports and manages the patient schedule for the Sr. Clinical Director. Facilitates smooth care coordination between providers. Accesses, documents, and manages data in an Electronic Client Record per agency and TDMHSAS standards. Completes clinical chart audits monthly. Maintains clinical supplies. Supports patients utilizing best care practices, industry standards, organizational guidelines, appropriate accreditation standards, and applicable federal laws, including HIPAA. Other Skills and Abilities Well‑organized, attentive to detail, able to efficiently multitask, and manage time independently. Can seamlessly transition between clinical and administrative tasks. Knowledgeable of licensure and other environmental regulations. Can act effectively in stressful situations. Autonomously maintains and updates certifications and provides renewals to the Sr. Clinical Director and HR. Compiles personal compliance with all TNV policies and procedures. Manages spreadsheets and reports mandatory data. Attends all required meetings, supervisions, and trainings. Travels weekly; possesses reliable transportation and current auto insurance. Has reliable home internet service. Performs all other duties as appropriate and needed, essential to grant operations and basic client care, as assigned by the Sr. Clinical Director. Qualifications Current certification as a Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA). Minimum of two years of experience with clients with severe and persistent mental illness and/or IDD. Non‑profit organization experience and work history across the lifespan preferred. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations Valid driver’s license, proof of automobile insurance, Clinical Medical Assistant Certification, CPR & First Aid. Physical Demands The employee must frequently stand, walk, push, pull, and carry or lift up to 50 pounds. The employee is occasionally required to climb, bend, or crouch. Mental abilities required include continuous concentration to detail, ability to remember multiple tasks, and oral and written communication skills with an attention span of more than one hour per task.
