About the Position

The patient population includes those needing dialysis, experiencing heart failure, or having had a stroke. Care also involves managing patients with delirium, dementia, end-of-life concerns, and mental health issues. The nurse will work with various supporting teams such as IV teams, respiratory services, and social services. Patient ratios are generally 1:5-6, depending on the shift. Special procedures and equipment used in this unit include feeding tubes, chest tubes, and blood administration. Floating to other units within the facility is required. Candidates should possess skills in blood product administration, central line blood draw, feeding tube management, and IV maintenance. Experience in charting systems and trauma care is beneficial. This role is critical in providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment.
