Location: Avera Majestic Bluffs / Avera Sister James Care Center Worker Type: Regular Work Shift: Day Shift (United States of America) Pay Range: $32.50–$48.50 per hour (actual pay rate dependent on experience) Position Highlights Hours: 6:00 am–6:30 pm; every 3rd weekend/holiday; 72 hrs/2 weeks May be eligible for a $30,000 sign‑on bonus with a 3‑year commitment Student Loan Repayment: extra $167 each month, up to $10,000, from Avera’s program A Brief Overview Delivers nursing care by developing a nursing diagnosis; establishing nursing care objectives; defining nursing interventions; providing physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to residents, families, and friends to understand resident conditions, medications, and self‑care skills; noting changing conditions and needs; re‑evaluating care objectives. Responsibilities Provide resident care by reviewing physician prescriptions and communicating the nursing care plan and all pertinent information to other health care team members Coordinate with other healthcare providers and provide physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to residents, families, and friends; confer with physicians Develop nursing care plans by obtaining medical histories; examining residents; documenting residents’ physical condition, psychological status, and influencing social factors; conferring with family and friends Teach healthcare requirements by establishing resident care goals; instruct residents, families, and friends to understand condition, medications, and self‑care skills; answer questions; provide information and resources Evaluate resident’s care by adhering to therapeutic standards; measure health outcomes against resident care standards; review residents’ records; note changing conditions and needs; re‑evaluate care objectives; modify nursing care plan Maintain safe, secure, and healthy resident care environment by adhering to infection‑control policies and protocols, medication administration and storage procedures, and controlled substance regulations; adhere to organization standards and policies, and to legal regulations; alert others regarding potential concerns Keep resident care equipment operating by following operating instructions and established procedures; troubleshoot breakdowns; maintain supplies; perform preventive maintenance; call for repairs Keep resident care supplies ready by checking stock; anticipating needs; placing and expediting orders; verifying receipt; stocking items Coordinate admissions, discharges and transfers to and from the facility Direct, plan and coordinate workflow of nursing assistants and other nursing personnel Maintain competence in nursing capabilities as outlined by leadership Essential Qualifications Must be able to work the specified hours Must have adequate visual acuity and the ability to communicate effectively, hear, understand and distinguish speech and other sounds Required Education, License/Certification, or Work Experience Registered Nurse (RN) – Board of Nursing; active license in the state of practice Preferred Education, License/Certification, or Work Experience 1–3 years of experience working in a clinical or long‑term care environment Expectations and Standards Commit to the daily application of Avera’s mission, vision, core values, and social principles Promote Avera’s values of compassion, hospitality, and stewardship Uphold standards of Communication, Attitude, Responsiveness, and Engagement (CARE) with enthusiasm and sincerity Maintain confidentiality Work effectively in a team environment, coordinating workflow with other team members to ensure a productive and efficient environment Comply with safety principles, laws, regulations, and standards associated with CMS, the Joint Commission, DHHS, and OSHA as applicable Benefits Paid time off available from day 1 for eligible hires Up to 5 % employer matching contribution for retirement Career development guided by hands‑on training and mentorship Avera is an Equal Opportunity Employer – Qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability, Veteran Status, or other categories protected by law.
