Portage Logistics is growing, and we are looking for a motivated, high-energy Freight Carrier Sales Representative to help expand our transportation network and carrier relationships across the Midwest and nationwide.

This is a fast-paced logistics role focused on meeting service expectations, carrier sourcing, freight coverage, and building long-term carrier partnerships.

Responsibilities

• Focus on sourcing and building relationships with carriers to service our customers’ freight.
• Negotiate rates with carriers and maximize load profitability
• Track and manage shipments from pickup to delivery
• Build internal relationships with customer operations and sales and work together to solve problems for our customers.
• This is a service-oriented role – you will be measured on on-time performance, outbound call volume, and core carrier relationships.

Preferred Experience

• Logistics or carrier sales experience is a plus
• Strong communication and negotiation skills
• Ability to work independently and solve problems quickly
• Basic understanding of freight markets, lanes and pricing

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree is preferred but not required.
• Eager to contribute to a high-energy environment. You will build your career in an office, alongside a team of your peers. We win as a team.
• A strong work ethic is critical to success in this role. If hard work does not come naturally to you, this might not be a good fit.
• Strong communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to get things done over the phone and email.
• This role spends an enormous amount of time on the phone talking with carriers. You must not be afraid to “smile and dial.”
• Able and excited to build relationships with a wide variety of people.

Schedule

Full-Time, Monday through Friday, In-Person

Compensation/Benefits

·         Salary $45,000 to $50,000 Depending on Experience
