Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Outpatient Cardiology Clinic position requiring cardiac device interrogation skills and MO or compact RN licensure.

Details

• Outpatient Heart and Vascular Clinic setting
• Day shift schedule, 5x8-hour shifts from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
• Cardiology patient population with focus on cardiac devices including pacemakers, loop recorders, and defibrillators
• Cerner charting system preferred but not required

Requirements

• Active MO or Compact RN license in hand at time of consideration
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of experience required in the specialty
• Cardiovascular nursing skills required
• Arrhythmia interpretation skills preferred
• Cardiac device knowledge required
• Ability to ambulate, reach, and move objects weighing up to and over 20 lbs

Additional Information

• Independently interrogate patient devices scheduled within the clinic during office hours
• Oversee and perform remote monitoring by managing vendor website and clinic scheduling systems, contacting patients, and sending correspondence for non-compliant patients
• Triage and assess critical symptoms or device-related issues, providing immediate intervention or escalating to providers as needed
• Perform initial post-implant device interrogation during follow-up visits to educate patients on device function and remote monitoring expectations
• Problem-solve and reprogram devices as directed by electrophysiology physicians and care team
• Facility operates 24/7, 365 days a year with potential exposure to contagious illnesses
• Rotating shifts, holiday coverage, and work during inclement weather may be required
• Coverage of at least 50% of holidays occurring during the contract required
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are not eligible
• Candidates residing 51-74 miles away may be offered the position at a local rate
