Qualifications, Requirements & Competencies High School Diploma or GED 18+ and authorized to work in the U.S. Ability to work in a fast‑paced, team-oriented environment Strong organizational and time‑management skills Preferred qualifications Pursues or holds a BS degree in accounting, finance, or a related field Is detail‑oriented and has strong mathematical skills Possesses excellent verbal and written communication Demonstrates sound project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects Complies with directions and instructions from supervisors Responsibilities Maintain an accurate record of financial transactions Organize reports, batches, schedules, statements, and relative analysis with all documents Assist with processing payroll through payroll service Organize employee files, setting up new employees, etc Assist with on‑boarding Employees and contractors Interpret and apply accounting policies, rules, and regulations to all work to ensure compliance with applicable standards Assist with preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual tax statements, including sales tax, ensuring full legal compliance Review invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment Research and resolve payment discrepancies Assist in general ledger transactions including balance sheet and profit & loss statement accuracy Maintain and organize all financial transaction documentation and all other accounting related documentation Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls Assist in modernizing and streamlining bookkeeping process Assist with annual NASD mandated audit Time commitment Availability Interns will be scheduled to work 20 hours per week during our operating hours, 9 am-5 pm Monday to Friday. Holidays, breaks and vacation periods Candidates should communicate all conflicts during their interview. The Joffrey Ballet School remains operational during Federal holidays throughout the summer sessions, including Juneteenth and Independence Day.
