Three of our executives have an RN background so we understand the importance of the patient experience!Focus on CARES values: Commitment, Action, Respect, Excellence, and ServiceFocus on Employee Wellness: Biometric screenings, Wellness programs, Onsite gym, Zen Room, Community Shared Agriculture program, Access to Success CoachStaff Recognition platforms: Shining Stars, CARESCount websiteJob Objectives:To directly assist, within the sterile operative field, the Surgeon & First Assistant during surgery by assuring that a sterile environment is maintained & all necessary surgical instruments/supplies are readily available to the surgeons.Skill and knowledge of sterile technique, surgical instruments and surgical procedures are required.The ability to develop & maintain collaborative working relationships with members of the surgical team is needed.On the weekend shift there will also be quality assurance work, prepping and stocking if surgeries are not taking place.Key Responsibilities:Assures a safe and efficient environment is provided for the surgical patient by preparing for each assigned caseIs an active member of the surgical teamAssures overall efficiency of department by effectively clearing Operating Room following the caseAssures an optimal perioperative environment to meet the needs of the patientProvides appropriate and quality care based on the results of current nursing research and quality improvement monitoring results.Requirements:National Surgical Technology certification or credentialed/grandfathered by NYS per 1/21/15 DOH regulation (2824) OR NYS LPN license required.BLS Certification required.Previous experience as a surgical scrub tech strongly preferred (at this time cannot hire an LPN without surgical OR exp).Regardless of what shift hired for, will need to orient on days M-F 7am-3:30pm for the first several months.On-call requirements required based on unit needs.Pay Range: $26.75 - $34.00Starting Pay: Based on ExperienceThompson Health is an EOE encouraging individuals with disabilities and veterans to apply.
