The Concrete Finisher and Rebar Installer is responsible for preparing job sites, setting formwork, laying steel rebar and wire mesh reinforcement, and pouring, leveling, and finishing concrete for structural and flatwork construction projects. This role combines structural reinforcement assembly with precision concrete finishing to ensure structural integrity, durability, and compliance with project specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Form & Base Preparation: Set batter boards, alignment stakes, and concrete forms to established pitch and depth requirements.
• Rebar Assembly & Tying: Cut, bend, lay out, and tie steel rebar and wire mesh into forms or foundations using tie wire and specialized tools.
• Placement & Anchorage: Position anchor bolts, steel plates, and embedded fixtures into formwork before and during concrete placement.

• Pouring Coordination: Direct ready-mix concrete truck drivers and assist with concrete discharge and casting into forms.
• Compaction & Consolidation: Operate power vibrators to compact poured concrete and eliminate air voids around rebar.
• Screeding & Leveling: Spread, rake, and screed fresh concrete to grade using straightedges, bull floats, and level indicators.
• Surface Finishing: Impart specified finishes (trowel, broom, or stamped textures) using hand trowels, edgers, groovers, and walk-behind or riding power trowels.
• Jointing & Curing: Cut expansion and control joints using joiners or power saws, apply surface sealants and hardeners, and monitor weather impacts on the curing process.
• Defect Repair: Inspect cured concrete surfaces and perform minor repairs, patching, and void filling as needed.
