The position offers a competitive wage starting at $18.00 per hour and follows a Monday‑Friday schedule with occasional evenings and weekends. Job Summary The Healthy Families Home Visiting Family Support Specialist (FSS) builds trusting relationships with families using the Healthy Families America model. The FSS visits families at home to create positive environments, strengthen parent‑child attachments, and support the well‑being of children and families. Using an infant mental health approach, the FSS practices reflective strategies to improve parenting skills, teach problem‑solving, and reduce family stress. Essential Job Functions Home visiting families and building trusting relationships. Develop and implement strategies to engage families in voluntary services. Complete initial enrollment visits and conduct FROG assessments. Schedule and provide regular home visits in accordance with KCSL Healthy Families policies. Administer ongoing screens and assessments such as the ASQ, ASQ‑SE, EPDS, and other program tools. Implement the research‑based curriculum Growing Great Kids during home visits. Support families in developing Family Goal Plans and encouraging goal achievement. Education and Experience Required: High school diploma or equivalent. Experience working with or providing services to children and families. Ability to maintain professional boundaries while providing supportive services. Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include evenings and weekends. Preferred: Infant Mental Health endorsement.
