About The Role

The Pricing Analyst is a key contributor to our sales and product teams. This role is responsible for the preparation of proposals, including content development, accurate, complete, and effective pricing of RFQs, and reviewing and qualifying all submissions from the sales and product teams. Working collaboratively with account leaders, sales managers, and subject matter experts, this individual gathers insights to ensure customers and prospective customers receive the Spot Experience.

Ideal Candidate and Qualifications

• You possess industry experience and are detail-oriented, leading insightful dialogue among our internal stakeholders.
• FTL experience across dry van, reefer, and flatbed, with an understanding of how mode and equipment type drive rate and capacity dynamics.
• Leverage market rate intelligence and lane-level benchmarks to pressure-test pricing assumptions and identify competitive gaps.
• You excel at project management and are highly organized.
• Bachelor's degree
• 3-5 years of proven experience, including 3 years in the 3PL/brokerage industry
• Ability to manage large data sets, cross-referencing them against multiple other data sets to draw conclusions
• Strong ability to persuade, motivate, and influence others

Responsibilities

• Partner with sales leaders and Account Managers to manage the RFQ and proposal process
• Utilize Spot's pricing models, market intelligence, and analytical tools to support pricing decisions
• Develop proposal pricing rates in conjunction with the length and scope of the contract
• Prepare, integrate, and assure the quality of all financial information included in customer bid review packages
• Perform post-bid analysis, including win/loss trends, awarded volume, pricing competitiveness, and performance against pricing assumptions
• Partner with the data science team to provide business feedback and help improve pricing models, data products, and decision-support tools
• Coordinate the development and improvement of processes to ensure compliance with business requirements
• Drive understanding of revenue, margin, and cost drivers in freight verticals/channels
