Account Executive Location: New York Metropolitan Area / New Jersey (Remote with Travel) Salary: $65,000–$85,000 Vendor fee: 12% Net Payment: 30 days Guarantee period: 45 days Candidate with cannabis industry experience will be preferred Employment Type: Full-Time Overview We are seeking a highly motivated Account Executive to own and grow a commercial sales territory across New York and New Jersey. This role is responsible for building and managing relationships with licensed commercial cultivation operators, developing new business opportunities, and serving as a trusted industry resource. The ideal candidate will possess strong cultivation knowledge, existing industry relationships, and a proven ability to develop and manage a sales territory independently. This position offers the opportunity to work within a rapidly evolving market while helping customers improve operational efficiency and cultivation performance through innovative products and services. Territory Development & Account Management Own and grow the NY/NJ territory, including licensed multi-state operators, independent cultivators, and newly licensed operators. Develop and maintain a portfolio of commercial cultivation accounts. Generate new business opportunities through existing relationships and targeted prospecting efforts. Build and maintain a qualified sales pipeline and achieve territory growth objectives. Conduct regular customer outreach and on-site engagement activities. Customer Engagement & Facility Consultation Meet with cultivation leaders and facility decision-makers to understand operational needs and purchasing requirements. Assess facility configurations, cultivation programs, and supply requirements. Recommend products and solutions tailored to customer operations and environmental conditions. Serve as a knowledgeable resource regarding cultivation practices, growing media, environmental controls, pest management programs, and commercial cultivation supplies. Represent the organization at industry events, conferences, and trade shows. Operations & Fulfillment Coordination Collaborate with operations and fulfillment teams to ensure accurate and timely order delivery. Communicate customer demand trends and market insights to internal teams. Assist in resolving fulfillment, inventory, and supply chain issues affecting customer satisfaction. CRM & Pipeline Management Maintain accurate and up-to-date CRM records for all customer interactions, opportunities, and account activities. Track pipeline performance, revenue forecasts, and territory growth metrics. Provide regular updates on market trends, competitive activity, and customer feedback. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) Develop and maintain a qualified sales pipeline within the first 60 days. Successfully close and fulfill initial customer orders within the first 90 days. Consistently acquire new accounts on a monthly basis following ramp-up. Achieve quarter-over-quarter portfolio revenue growth. Maintain high customer retention and engagement levels. Ensure all customer interactions and activities are documented in CRM within required timelines. Conduct regular on-site visits and maintain consistent communication with key accounts. Qualifications Required 7+ years of experience working in or selling into commercial cultivation environments. Strong understanding of cultivation operations and industry best practices. Existing relationships with cultivation leaders, facility managers, procurement contacts, or related stakeholders are highly preferred. Knowledge of: Growing media and substrate selection Integrated Pest Management (IPM) Environmental controls Fertigation systems Commercial cultivation consumables Proven success managing and growing a sales territory with minimal supervision. Experience using CRM platforms and sales pipeline management tools. Strong communication, relationship-building, and consultative selling skills. Ability to travel regularly throughout New York and New Jersey. Valid driver's license. Preferred Established network within the commercial cultivation industry. Experience supporting customers in highly regulated operating environments. Background working with cultivation products, supplies, or agricultural technology solutions.
